The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the payment calendar for February 2026, days when beneficiaries can start preparing their finances. Announced thereafter is the schedule of staggered payment, which helps smooth the large influx of people at pay points and ATMs across the country. Stated herein are those confirmed dates that are applicable to the main grant categories including Older Persons, Disability, and Children’s Grants.
Main Grant Payment Dates
As per the official payment schedule, Older Persons Grants will be paid on Tuesday, 3 February 2026. The payment for Disability Grants will be on Wednesday, 4 February 2026. All other grants, including Children’s Grants, are scheduled for payment on Thursday, 5 February 2026. Through the three-day structure, payments run smoothly and we have facilitated less crowding at pay points. Beneficiaries are reminded that they do not have to rush for payments because the money, once paid into the account, is available for claim by the beneficiary up to a reasonable period.
SRD Grant Contemplated.
While SASSA main grants have fixed dates early in February, the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant does not adhere to a rigid schedule. SRD stew and payment takes place later in the month, after all application processes are considered completed. To confirm the date of the payment of the SRD R370 grant on a given day, beneficiaries are advised to check their status via the official SASSA channels, as it is understood that these can change based on verification and banking processes.
Beneficiaries’ Guide Ahead of Payment Dates
Meanwhile, the SASSA appeals to all recipients of grants to make sure that their personal and bank details are in order for the duration running right up to the payment cycle, with the ultimate goal of ensuring no delays or disruptions. Should there be any change with regard to a granted benefits payment option for a particular month, this must reach the SASSA at least one month before the 19th of each month, to enable us to process the changes prior to the payment date. Should a payment date fall on public holiday or over a weekend, SASSA will, however, pin the date to the following ordinary working day in order to see beneficiaries receive their grants on time.
